About this deal

Rosie Walsh’s The Love of My Life is my favorite kind of thriller—gripping, heartbreaking and impossible to put down.”—Laura Dave I listened to the audiobook narrated by Imogen Church and Theo Solomon who are the voices of Emma and Leo. They narrate with passion and believability that bring the characters to life. What a great listen!

The author does a great job of getting the reader invested in Emma's and Leo's story: their relationship, their history together, Emma's complexities, Leo's unwavering support for Emma, and how they love each other so deeply. I cared about these two characters and was pulling for both of them! The exploration of trust - and the loss of it - in a marriage was very well examined and portrayed. Poor Leo! But, oh my, poor Emma, too! So tortured, so brave, but at the same time unable to find the courage to tell Leo the truth - for so many valid reasons, of course, but still.....!This reminded me a little of a Lisa Jewell book because of its readability and addictiveness. It’s not an edgy, murder-centered thriller, but it IS suspenseful and tense throughout. The last third was very dramatic and entertaining as well. Pe când Emma încearcă să-și ascundă trecutul, el iese la iveală în cele din urmă. Dacă viața lor rămâne la fel după ce află Leo adevărul nu rămâne decât să descoperiți singuri.

The multiple points of view Walsh employed served the story perfectly; I raced through this book to learn the truth alongside Leo. Walsh has a good ear for dialogue, and the mystery behind Eddie’s disappearance is a particularly satisfying one.” I am a huge fan of Rosie Walsh’s writing. The Love of My Life is heart-wrenching, beautiful and thought-provoking; it made me cry, smile and hug my own loved ones a little tighter.” overall, not quite what i was expecting. the overall story is a good one, i just wish it had felt more cohesive in terms of genre and storytelling. When the very darkest moments of Emma’s past finally emerge, she must somehow prove to Leo that she really is the woman he always thought she was . . .

Meanwhile, a woman, Janice, a highly successful movie star has done a runner. No one knows why she left a rehearsal for an upcoming theatrical production and has not been seen since. Though she an Emma aren't friends, Emma is highly concerned, in an a seemingly unexplainable way. In terms of its premise, the book felt tailor-made for me. I loved the drama plus mystery vibes in the blurb. However, this doesn’t transform well to reality. The book seems like a hodgepodge of various genres – romance, suspense, family drama, literary fiction, domestic thriller – without doing justice to most. I have mixed feelings about The Love of my Life. While I loved the premise, love a dual narrative, and love having an author throw around pieces of information that get put together in the second half of a book, I just couldn’t connect to this story as much as I wanted to. Emma and Leo have chemistry between them they could never deny. They felt it from the first time they met. When their beautiful daughter Ruby is born, they are over-the-moon in love with her and each other. I didn’t much care for Ghosted by this author at all, but then I got it confused with another book with a similar title since I’m an idiot and was all about trying to get an early copy/first dibs at the library for this new release. I’m happy to report I wasn’t disappointed once I finally got my hands on it.

Readers in the U.S. have really been loving The Love of My Life. I get it. Rosie Walsh’s latest novel is full of twists and turns, and I never was fully certain where the story would go. A bruising and beautiful mystery that kept me guessing till the very end, The Love of My Life delivers on every level. I’m a huge fan of Rosie Walsh.” The setting drives the story with her study of a rare crab and the connection it makes to her past. A beautiful life may soon be torn apart when Leo uncovers it all. An actress from the Rothschild's family goes missing, and Leo discovers a connection between the two. What is she hiding? Emma goes missing when he begins to connect the dots with the evidence from her past. What do you do when you find out everything your wife ever told you about herself is a lie?Allow Rosie Walsh’slove story slash mystery, The Love of My Life, to explain.”
