About this deal

I wondered how long the illustrations took for you to create – they look so fresh and ‘in the moment’ but Cat’s outfits are full of beautiful patterns and textures. Paris Cat is born in a dirty alleyway where her cat relations eat fish bones. She runs into a dressmaker's shop to get out of the rain, and begins sewing her own wardrobe from the fabric scraps. She visits a theater and dances onstage with Josephine Baker (who is a famous erotic dancer from history known for her skimpy costumes) and Chiquita the leopard. Eventually, she opens her own dancing club and cafe where her cat family and friends can benefit from her fabulous fashion creations and jazz music. I'm not sure that I'm a fan of this art style. It's a little too messy and garish for me. Everyone's eyes are so dark, and every feature is exaggerated in a weird way. I know that is the style, but it's not my cup of tea. The art is consistent and has a professional polish. It's obviously well done, but it's not my personal favorite. As mentioned above, Bois de Boulogne is a large wood on the West of Paris. It is easily reached from central Paris via the Metro Line 2. The wood is at the very end of the line at Port Dauphine. As far as off-leash time and allowing your doggo plenty of space to run, Bois de Boulogne is probably the best choice.

She sees other people creating something or dancing or singing, and she decides that she can do it too. I love how confident she is in her own abilities, and she's willing to work hard to achieve her dreams. Tired of haunting the alleys with the family horde of cats, Cat decides it’s time to move on and discover her calling in life. Her first stop is the ‘Café de Paris’ in which she espies none other than Edith Piaf singing to an audience. But a life of singing, as Cat discovers, is not for her.

Leaving aside the charming myths and legends and the question of who actually obtained them, foundation female Poupee de Madalpour was born in Nice, France in 1920 and owned by Madame Leotardi. This was the first Birman born in the West. Her dam was Sita, and her sire was Madalpour, who died during importation. There are no records of any surviving siblings, making Poupee de Madalpour is the founding mother of the breed. There is no further mention of Sita, which suggests she had died. There were evidently no surviving male offspring from Sita x Madalpour, hence the need to outcross to a “Laotian Lynx” (a Siamese type cat from Laos) owned by a doctor in Nice.

Parc Monceau is a beautiful park in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. It is fairly small and not particularly dog-friendly. They also have an excellent beverage selection, including teas, wines, and beers. And if you’re down for brunch in Paris, drop in on weekends for a scrumptious brunch. For much of the early history of the breed we have to read the works of Birman breeder Monsieur Baudoin-crevoisier. In 1933, he wrote, “Poupee could not be bred by a male of that breed, but was bred to a Laotian Lynx cat belonging to a doctor in Nice. This type of cat resembles the Siamese, with very blue eyes, and this breeding produced young mongrels of Birmans and Laotians. Through successive breeding was born a perfect result – Manou de Madalpour, whose marks resemble her mother, Poupee.” In 1935, Baudoin wrote “This female [Poupee] was next bred to a male Siamese, which, at that time was baptised for the circumstances -Laotian Cat.” Investigation by Marcel Reney found that the Laotian cats were simply Siamese cats. As for the exact origin of the imported Sacred Cats of Burma, Baudoin wrote in 1935 in “Son Altesse le Chat”, “Aside from the writings of Sir Russell Gordon and Auguste Pavie, no document gives the exact origin of these cats. After six years of research and ten years breeding offspring in France, the Sacred Cat Of Burma still remains a mystery….”

Paris Cat's appearance is most likely based on the heroine of the manga series The Rose of Versailles, Oscar François de Jarjayes. One thing I love about the menu here is their pledge to keep all dishes and desserts 100% homemade. Before Kyoutou Project was removed, Gross Cat appeared in it as an enemy and obtainable collaboration unit. It’s also a great escape if you’re looking to get out of the city for an afternoon. In my opinion, the Bois de Vincennes feels a little more wild, like you’re further from the city than in Bois de Boulogne. Read a review: In Paris Cat we see a character with a strong sense of her own individuality – Mary Roche Not content with fame though, Madame Kitty reflects on her family and wants them to enjoy her successes too so she opens up her own nightclub at the very spot in which she started. Whilst friends and family dance and wail the night away, Cat leaps off at the close - heading towards a new adventure. If you wish to stay on the other side of Paris near Bois de Vincennes, you can either find a place near Bastille and take the Line 1 to Vincenne, near the Coulée Verte or stay just outside Paris in Vincennes. The Coulée Verte is a former rail line in the 12th arrondissement that has been transformed into a long, narrow green space. The Bois de Vincennes is at the end of the walk, making this a great option for dog owners who don’t mind a long walk and want to stay in central Paris.

The City of Lights is famous for its food and wine, so no Paris house sitting gig is complete without a food tour. Most of the city's restaurants are dog friendly, particularly those with outdoor cafes. Why not head to Le Marais to take a gastronomic walking tour? The neighbourhood does street food par excellence, and it's one of the most dog-friendly ways to experience Parisian cuisine. Paris isn't Paris without its champagne, so be sure to visit the Champagne region on the outskirts of the city. This quirky restaurant is just gaining in charm by the minute: Cats, a cosy atmosphere, home-cooked fare and some nice wine! Walking Paddington in Montmartre. There’s not a lot of green space so we have to get creative sometimes. True Form: Sexy Legs Cat went to the gym! His legs become incredibly muscular and buff, now with toes. A small vein can be seen just above Macho Leg Cat's face. Aesthetic fit for Beefcake Cat. The best options for dogs that need a lot of exercise are in the areas near the Bois de Boulogne on the West or Bois de Vincennes on the East. To easily reach the Bois de Boulogne, I suggest staying in the 16th arrondissement– this includes areas near Place du Trocadero (right by the Eiffel Tour). You can also opt to stay just outside of Paris in Saint-Cloud or Boulogne-Billancourt. Both are charming suburbs that are serviced by public transportation and close to the Bois.Buttes-Chaumont is also a great option for walking your dog in the city. It is situated in northeastern Paris, in the 19th arrondissement. If your dog requires less exercise, or if you’re okay with keeping him/her on a leash in parks, the 1st, 15th, 12th, 7th, and 14th arrondissements are also fairly dog-friendly. If you opt to take a walking tour of Montmartre , you’ll notice that there aren’t many green spaces in the area. While a tourist hub, only stay in Montmartre of you’re willing to cross the city for a dog walk, or get creative with where you walk your dog.
